Stories and comments from families in Miss Lisa's classes
Kindermusik has really taken my children’s imagination above and beyond. For my oldest, it seemed to really jump-start his developmental milestones. For my middle, she just loved, loved, loved being around all the other children and being social with them.
For my oldest, it’s really given him a love for music. He wants to continue beyond Kindermusik and take violin lessons. For my middle, it’s given her a love for songs and singing. She sings all the time…about everything. She loves to make up her own songs. I don’t know that they are “musical”, but they sure do love it. They are definitely good listeners, more verbal and have bigger vocabularies because they’ve been exposed to so many different kinds of music and activities.”
Our favorite songs over the years: Bow, wow, wow, Zoo Train songs, Peek-a- Boo, I Love You, The Indian chant songs…really there are too many to list! We play every CD over and over and over. It’s just about all we listen to. The kids know all the songs and love them all!
We read and reread My Big Blue Boat, Hurry Home Little Kittens, Michael Finnegan, Jingle Jangle Jamorbine, and Oh, What Busy Days. Every now and then, when they’re baking, the children surprise Mom and Dad and start singing songs from Milk and Cookies from years ago! As a parent, I enjoyed Roll Over, Rover, lap bouncing, circle dances, and anything with up and down movement. I have grown from Kindermusik and sing more confidently. I make up songs for the kids all the time and I’m really not afraid to sing to them wherever we are. I would never have done that before Kindermusik. I really don’t care what others think. The most important thing to me is that I’m a good mother. Sometimes that means doing crazy things like singing in the middle of a store if you need a distraction.
And Lisa shared a lot with me over the years so I feel like I have more tools as a parent.
I would tell other parents this is the ONE activity I would not give up for my child. I truly believe it encompasses so much of what’s important in the development of a child–from babies to older kids. It aids in physical development, emotional development, social development, imagination, cognitive development. It really is the one activity that includes it all.
Meet Amy and her family. Amy was recently a mom-tester on Good Morning, America, so she’s always looking for the best for her family.
Kindermusik is a time of the day that is 100% focused on my kids and their development using music, singing, dancing and play. They are in a very positive friendly environment and are able to be creative with no real rules/restrictions.“I have been involved in Kindermusik since the summer of 2007 with my 4 children: William started classes when he was 4 months old, Bennett started classes when he was 6 months old, Catherine and Elizabeth started classes when they were 6 months old.
I keep coming back because I believe Kindermusik has set a foundation for my kids in music. Anytime we listen to the cd’s in the car William and Bennett immediately play remember when…and talk about Miss Lisa, the instruments, the friends they met and they ALWAYS remember the music! I enjoy telling the boys about the twins class and then listen to the boys talk about their time in Kindermusik.
We use Kindermusik all day long! I seem to sing “Toys Away” MANY times a day. Several times William and Bennett will sing a song and ask me to video it and send it to Miss Lisa.
One afternoon as we were heading home for naps…the twins were fussy, the boys were bickering and my husband, Trey was at a loss. I turned on a Kindermusik CD and IMMEDIATLEY everyone was quiet and the boys actually started singing along. Trey’s words…”That is AMAZING!”
I find myself signing throughout the day…about eating breakfast, putting laundry away, getting buckled in the car…most of the times the boys just laugh but believe it or not, they start singing back!
Things we love that we got from Kindermusik:
- The foam duck with the mirror is a FAVORITE bath toy of all 4 kids
- The wagon ride in the laundry basket
- Swinging in a blanket
- Keeping parchment paper in my bag as a “toy”
- Playing with paper plates
- Bubbles from that can be used inside
- Favorite books
- Some of my DEAREST friends I have met in Kindermusik.
There are many tips I have learned throughout the years and I hope now being a mom of FOUR kids, I can offer tips that have worked for me.
Raul & Christy's Story
Michael came his first class at 9 months old. We have seen that Kindermusik enabled Michael to be more in tune with his musicality, as well as his overall growth. Since he started at a young age it has helped with his motor, listening, social and verbal skills. And we've noticed that he is more musical.
Music affects his moods and inspires him, so much that he makes his own tunes out of the blue. We believe he is a better listener and communicator because of Kindermusik.
Kindermusik is a safe and loving environment where your child is allowed to grow in all areas not just music. A place to help create a very important bond between parent and child that will last a lifetime. A great music program with great, loving teachers that go above and beyond to get your child ready emotionally and verbally for the future ahead of them. We love it and we are proud to say we are part of a great community.
Michael’s favorite songs never seem to get old (to Michael, at least).
There are a couple of songs that to this day he sings. The washing machine (“We are all stuck in a washing machine…”); and his favorite “Toast, toast,” which he still sings a lot, and the goodbye song (he sings that quite often.) He loves the stories about Shiny Dinah and Go-Van-Go.”
“As parents, the ‘Toys away’ song was so helpful. We really enjoyed it because it taught him to clean up his toys after playing. We still to this day use the same song to pick up. And as a mom, I learned how to approach other mothers, interact with them because our children have grown up together in Kindermusik and in a way we created a small community of Kindermusik parents.”
Kindermusik has changed our lives and along with music came many lifelong friendships for me and my children. I am such a true believer in music shaping a child’s brain, Kindermusik is one of those things…I could not imagine our life without.
We love Kindermusik because it’s “our thing,” special time together for me and my daughter. I recommend Kindermusik to everyone I know with young children. It is the best money spent because the lessons last forever!
Kindermusik has many valuable aspects – music, play, socialization, child and parent interaction, singing and make believe. It is a happy time in the week that is fun for the whole family.
Kindermusik is a chance for my son to learn and explore through movement and music. It awakens his senses, teaches him valuable life skills, and provides bonding time for the two of us. He is so happy when he is in Kindermusik class!
When I went to a trial of Kindermusik I thought I was going to a singing class. It is so much more. Children learn to share, listen, express themselves and they don’t even know they are learning. They have so much fun and for my daughter, it increased her confidence 10-fold. Thank you, Kindermusik.
We have one little creative baby and have Kindermusik to thank!
We love Kindermusik because the music stays with us even when we aren’t in class and it brings smiles to both of our kids’ faces!
I love how to see how much my babies learn at Kindermusik, they have become a lot more social, outgoing and definitely more “musical” since we started attending.

Love the musical magic Kindermusik has created in our family. We have enjoyed the classes for the past 7 years and never grow tired of hearing the CDs or enjoying the coordinating books. My 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter have developed a lifelong connection with music. We LOVE Kindermusik for providing us a musical family connection!
Kindermusik day is a favorite day at our house! My child will exclaim “Yay, Kindermusik today!” It’s a wonderful part of her week, spent with a wonderfully loving teacher!
After my middle son’s first Kindermusik class, I remember hearing him just talking, talking, talking in sweet baby language in the backseat of the car. He was so turned on by all that music and dancing that he couldn’t stop talking about it! I love Kindermusik because it is such a great time for kids and mommies to connect and share with one another and the love and learning continues at home as you sing the songs and talk about that experience! We know the music, the movements, and the emotional bond are good for our babies’ brains, but the parents get so much out of it, too. Plus, an environment of teachers loving on your babies and parents who are also dedicated is safe and supportive and wonderful.

Kindermusik has blessed us with new friends! I love the connections I have made, not just with my daughter, but I know we have made a couple lifetime friends. I look forward to growing with these moms and their beautiful babies.
